How the Monthly Tournaments Work
The 2009 monthly online tournaments are open to everyone. Players compete using the same ranking system as for the annual World Xiangqi Masters Tournament,with the top 4 online players sharing a prize fund of US$1,000 every month. The Gold and Silver winners also receive a stunning sports watch from Argenti (value US$460).
Once registered, Xiangqi players can immediately enter the games hall. They see their rating at a glance and as they compete, win or lose, they will see their position rise or fall. Players can enter the games hall at any time, 24 hours a day, play as often as they want and as many games as they want.
Players and fans can watch games in progress, learn at their own pace, access games already played and see which level they and their rivals are on. Most importantly, everyone can access the games and results of everyone who is in contention for the big prizes.
The tournaments start on the first working day of each month, and run until the last day of the month, when the top 10 ranked players will be declared the winners of cash, exciting prizes and certificates. The real names of the winners will be published on this website on the 15th day of each month, and prizes and certificates will be distributed on the same day.
Cash and prizes include US$500 and an Argenti sports watch for the Gold Champion, US$300 and an Argenti sports watch for the Silver Champion, and US$100 each for the two Bronze Champions. The next six ranked players will each be awarded a Distinction Champion certificate.
World Mind Masters’ unique ratings system means that anyone can enter World Mind Masters Championships and have a chance to win.
